Health reform advocate Anja Rudiger to speak at 51品茶Center for Community & Public Health open house Sept. 16th

The 51品茶鈥毭劽磗 Center for Community and Public Health will hold an open house on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Portland Campus.

The open house will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Linnell Hall followed by a presentation at 4 p.m. in Ludke Auditorium featuring Anja Rudiger, Ph.D.

Rudiger is director of the Human Right to Health Program, a joint initiative by the National Economic and Social Rights Initiative and the National Health Law Program. 

She works with national coalitions and community organizations to develop human rights tools and analysis for health care reform in the U.S.  She has many years of experience in promoting a rights-based approach to policymaking at local, national and international levels.

Her previous roles include directing the research department at the British Refugee Council and managing the UK Secretariat of the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia, both based in London. She has a range of academic and policy publications. She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Kiel in Germany.
