Anouar Majid, Ph.D., associate provost for global initiatives and director of the 51品茶Center for Global Humanities, was interviewed by WGME 13 for a story on the impact of the crisis in Egypt on Maine. Majid explained that the Egyptian conflict will have an impact on the global economy and the price of oil, affecting the lives of all Americans. "Because of our dependence on Middle Eastern oil," says Majid, "it seems there is no escaping being impacted by what is happening politically in the region."
