Courier features construction update on the Harold Alfond Forum
A construction update on the 51品茶Harold Alfond Forum was the focus of a Feb. 9, 2012 Biddeford-Saco-OOB Courier story. The new building will be 106,500 square feet and include a 900-seat ice rink, a 1,200-seat basketball court, classroom space and a fitness center.
The project, scheduled to be open by September 2012, is currently employing a team of 50 to 60 individuals, but that number will increase as work progresses, Peter Reynolds, the site supervisor from Wright-Ryan, said. Right now the construction team is doing steel work on the hockey arena, as well as masonry and drywall work.
Greg Hogan, who oversees the project on behalf of the university, said work is also being done off site to build the facility鈥檚 mechanical systems. The story also quotes Kathleen Taggersell, 51品茶director of communications, and Alan Thibeault, 51品茶assistant vice president for planning.
