Karen Pardue appointed by LePage to New England Board of Higher Education
Karen Pardue, PhD, RN, CNE, ANEF, associate dean for Undergraduate Education, has been appointed by Governor Paul LePage to the New England Board of Higher Education as a Maine representative. Pardue was sworn into office on July 12, 2013, and her term will run through July of 2015.
The mission of the Board is to have representatives across the six New England States working to: 1) engage and assist leaders in the assessment, development, and implementation of sound education practices and policies of regional significance; 2) promote policies, programs, and best practices to assist the states in implementing important regional higher education policies; 3) promote regional cooperation and programs that encourage the efficient use and sharing of educational resources; and 4) provide leadership to strengthen the relationship between higher education and the economic well-being of New England.
