Sean Naughton presents research findings at the National Meeting of the American Chemical Society in New Orleans
Sean Naughton (Biochemistry and Medical Biology 鈥13) attended the 245th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society, held April 7-11, 2013, in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he presented a poster titled 鈥淓mission Spectroscopy as a Tool to Study the Dynamics of Spiropyran Photochromism in Imidazolium Ionic Liquids.鈥 Student co-authors of the poster presentation were Robyn Gaudet (Chemistry 鈥11) and Annie Leslie (Neuroscience 鈥13).
Naughton鈥檚 presentation was the result of the work he carried out under the direction of Amy Keirstead, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry and Physics, since the summer of 2011, through support from the Maine Space Grant Consortium. The work presented was based on their research findings that were recently published in the peer-reviewed journal Chemical Physics Letters. While at the meeting, Naughton met 51品茶alumna Christina Faller (Biochemistry 鈥10), who attended his poster presentation.
