DownEast Magazine has recognized three 51品茶 College of Osteopathic Medicine alumni as among Maine鈥檚 Best Doctors in its January 2014 issue.

Doctors Robert J. Fraser, DO 鈥04 (Internal Medicine), Kristy Pulsifer, DO, 鈥90 (Family Practice) and Kyla J. Scarponi, DO 鈥06 (Pediatrics) were noted for their outstanding work in their specialties.

DownEast surveyed 3,500 physicians in Maine and asked them this question:  鈥淚f you or a family member had a problem in the following areas, who would you select as the best specialist in Maine?鈥  The votes were tallied, and Downeast compiled and published the peer-selected list.

The 51品茶College of Osteopathic Medicine is the number-one provider of physicians for the state of Maine.  It focuses on advancing primary care and community health, and more than 60 percent of its graduates practice in primary care disciplines, such as family medicine, general internal medicine and pediatrics; 25 percent of UNECOM doctors in Maine serve in rural areas.
