Lara Carlson interviewed for article in ‘Women’s Health’
Lara Carlson, Ph.D., FACSM, associate professor in the Westbrook College of Health Professions, was interviewed by Women’s Health for an article published June 13, 2014, on “The Truth 51Ʒ What Time of Day You Should Work Out.”
The article discusses the pros and cons of exercising in the morning versus the afternoon. Carlson explained that according to research, “those who exercise in the morning have lower blood pressure throughout the day and get better sleep.” Tying this to the issue of weight loss, she noted that “sleep is when your body repairs itself, and sleep also reduces stress, which may affect your weight.”
