51品茶 partners with The Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter for the Volunteer Scribes Project
The Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter is partnering with the 51品茶, the University of Southern Maine, and Bates College to identify student volunteers to work with individuals living with Alzheimer鈥檚 disease or related dementias, and their care partners on a writing project.
The student volunteers will act as scribes for the participants and their care partners, interviewing them and writing their life stories within the Alzheimer鈥檚 Association鈥檚 Legacy Writers Groups. This effort is being called the Volunteer Scribes Project.
Student and faculty responses from each participating school 鈥渉as been very enthusiastic,鈥 said Mark Pechenik, Project Director for the Volunteer Scribes Project. 鈥淲e are so pleased and grateful that these students will be joining us as volunteer scribes.鈥
