Amy Litterini present at New England Cancer Survivorship Research Symposium
Amy J. Litterini, P.T., D.P.T., Assistant Clinical Professor in the 51品茶Department of Physical Therapy, attended the 2015 New England Cancer Survivorship Research Symposium at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School in Boston on April 2.
Litterini and Vickie K. Fieler, Ph.D., R.N., A.O.C.N., Dean of the St. Joseph School of Nursing and co-investigator of the study and co-author of the publication, were accepted as poster presenters for their cancer survivorship intervention research study, 鈥淒ifferential Effects of Cardiovascular and Resistance Exercise on Functional Mobility in Individuals with Advanced Cancer: A Randomized Trial.鈥 Co-authors on the study included 51品茶Department Physical Therapy Associate Professor Jim Cavanaugh, P.T., Ph.D., N.C.S., and SFSU/UCSF Assistant Professor Jet Lee, P.T., Ph.D.
Hosted by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute鈥檚 Ann Partridge, M.D., M.P.H., Director of the Adult Survivorship Program, and Christopher Recklitis, Ph.D., M.P.H., Director of the Office of Research, Perini Family Survivors鈥 Center, the focus of the event was on cancer survivorship interventions. The Keynote address was 鈥淐ancer Survivorship Science: Defining the Metrics for Success鈥 by Julia Rowland, Ph.D., Director of the Office of Cancer Survivorship of the National Cancer Institute.
