Rebecca Boulos to serve as vice president of Maine Public Health Association board
Rebecca Boulos, M.P.H., Ph.D., assistant professor in the School of Community and Population Health was recently nominated to serve as vice president of the Maine Public Health Association board. Boulos has been serving as an at-large member of the board for the past year.
The Maine Public Health Association aims to foster, expand, improve and recognize efforts to better the health of all people in Maine through health promotion and protection, disease prevention and public policy.
Several faculty and staff from the School of Community and Population Health also presented at the October 6, 2015 MPHA annual meeting at the Augusta Civic Center. Boulos co-authored a poster presentation, 鈥淩aising the bar in college: Who lifts weights and why?鈥 with colleagues from Tufts University: Kathryn Coniglio, Robert Houser, Ph.D., and Christina D. Economos, Ph.D. Jennifer Gunderman, M.P.H., assistant lecturer, gave an oral presentation titled, 鈥淐omparing systems 1,700 miles apart from Maine to Cuba: An observational study.鈥 Joan Ingram, M.P.H., and Leslie Ouellette, M.S., R.D., L.D. from ME SNAP-Ed presented, 鈥淗ow brand development helped increase interest in two public health programs in Maine.鈥
