Advice for future nurses: UNE鈥檚 Jeff Nevers offers interview tips

Jeff Nevers, Career Services coordinator at the 51品茶 and affiliated professor in the Westbrook College of Health Professions Department of Physical Therapy, recently co-authored an article in the September 2016 edition of American Nurse Today about how to prepare for interviews for nursing jobs.

The article, titled 鈥淓vidence-based interview strategy for new nurses,鈥 offers advice to new nursing graduates about common interview topics and branding yourself as the strongest candidate for the job. 鈥淎s you prepare for a job interview, remember that you鈥檒l be assessed on your authenticity and overall presentation,鈥 the article states. 鈥淪o 鈥榖randing鈥 yourself鈥攊dentifying what makes you unique鈥攊s imperative. Select and use key words that represent your strengths through a balance of skills, experiences, character, and potential. For example, if you brand yourself as passionate, share your clinical, academic, and personal stories that support this description.鈥
