David Livingstone Smith gives grand rounds talk on dehumanization to Tufts Medical Center鈥檚 psychiatry department

On September 20, 2016, David Livingstone Smith, Ph.D., professor of philosophy, gave a grand rounds presentation to the Department of Psychiatry at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

Titled "Less Than Human: Understanding Dehumanization," the talk acquainted the audience with the phenomenon of dehumanization and provided an understanding of how mentally ill or cognitively impaired people may be dehumanized.

Smith is the author of Less Than Human:  Why We Demean, Enslave, and Exterminate Others.
