Edward Bilsky, Ph.D., 51Æ·²è vice-president of Research and Scholarship, was interviewed by WMTW after a fatal overdose in Portland’s Old Port.

The overdose happened on a busy street as hundreds of people were leaving a concert, drawing attention to the opioid crisis affecting families, across Maine and the nation. Bilsky, a pharmacologist specializing in opioid research, talked about the stigma associated with addiction and the need for funding for research and treatment.
