Marine Science students at the 51品茶 will have the opportunity to stay in Maine during the summer to perform critical research in Casco Bay. The Marine Anglers for Research and Conservation donated $12,500 to the 51品茶 to support undergraduate research on conservation and management of local fish species with Professor James Sulikowski, Ph.D.

The funds were raised at the annual Casco Bay Classic Sport Fishing Tournament, a New England-based event with a mission to help preserve marine life through research and responsible sport fishing techniques.

鈥淭o say that it is a privilege to work with the Marine Anglers for Research and Conservation team is an understatement 鈥漵aid Sulikowski, 鈥淭heir continued interest in the success of 51品茶marine science students has been amazing. Their donations have given UNE students the opportunity to remain on campus during the summer and conduct fisheries-based research on issues and species that are part of our local ecosystem and community and of particular interest to our local sport fishing enthusiasts and fishing industry.  I have seen how this experience has changed the lives of our students and helped them find employment and acceptance into graduate programs.鈥
