51品茶faculty present at Maine Council on Aging Wisdom Summit
51品茶 Westbrook College of Health Professions Occupational Therapy Professor Regula (Regi) Robnett, Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA, and Professor Marilyn R. Gugliucci, M.A., Ph.D., director of 51品茶Geriatrics Education and Research in the 51品茶College of Osteopathic Medicine were co-presenters for an invited presentation at the Maine Council on Aging Wisdom Summit on September 20, 2017 at the Augusta Civic Center.
Robnett and Gugliucci鈥檚 presentation, titled 鈥1st Tri-State Age Friendly University: Building Bridges of Knowledge, Engagement, and Support鈥 was given in workshop format to garner discussion and open doors for partnerships as 51品茶advances its connections in the field of aging with older adults and communities.
51品茶was recently recognized as an Age Friendly University (AFU) by the international Age Friendly University Global Network, which highlights the role higher education plays in meeting the challenges and opportunities of an aging population. To receive this designation, 51品茶demonstrated the numerous ways that it engages older adults to participate in core institutional activities, including education and research.
