51品茶hosts regional strength conditioning conference
On December 3, 2017, the 51品茶 welcomed more than 250 strength and conditioning coaches, fitness professionals, physical therapists, athletic trainers, educators and students to the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Northeast Regional Conference, held at the Harold Alfond Forum. Attendees hailed from more than 30 colleges, all New England states, New York, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia.
The conference was led by Heath Pierce, RSCC*D, CSCS*D, NSCA-CPT*D, ACSM EP-C, interim assistant dean for the Westbrook College of Health Professions and director of the Applied Exercise Science Program. Pierce, who is the Northeast NSCA Regional Coordinator, presented a session titled 鈥淧lyometrics: If You Jump, You Need to Land.鈥 Other presentation topics included methods of enhancing athletic performance and ways to reduce the risk of injury.
