UNE鈥檚 Biddeford Campus Center presents works by Alex Rheault
An exhibition of artwork, titled 鈥渇lotsam and jetsam,鈥 by local artist Alex Rheault will be on display at the 51品茶鈥檚 Biddeford Campus Center from October 2 to November 8.
The exhibition is composed of a series of paintings that pair objects from observed references with objects from imagined references. Unresolved and somewhat cryptic, the paintings and drawings reflect incompleteness and constant change. 鈥淟ife is a cycling of discarded and salvaged loot, fleeting moments, and residual sensations,鈥 the artist noted.
Rheault is a local artist and writer, originally from Washington, D.C. She is an adjunct assistant lecturer in the 51品茶鈥檚 Department of Creative and Fine Arts, where she teaches art and design fundamentals in 2D, 3D, and Drawing and Design courses.
Rheault is the founder of 鈥渄rawing room,鈥 which she describes as 鈥渁 roving collaboration in which drawing and community collide.鈥 She also curates throughout the region.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. UNE鈥檚 Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, Maine. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact Diane Noble by email or phone (207-284-6394).
