Dora Anne Mills, M.D., M.P.H., FAAP, 51品茶 vice president for Clinical Affairs and director for the Center for Excellence in Health Innovation, appeared on WGME鈥檚 newscast Thursday, May 10 to provide insight on an outbreak of pinworm at Buxton Center Elementary School.

Mills told WGME鈥檚 reporter "It's really a pretty harmless infection. It's just irritating."

She said it can spread when people scratch  their bottoms, don't wash their hands, and then touch another person or object. It can spread rapidly among school-aged kids.

"Cleaning the school is a good idea, as well as teaching the children and staff to make sure they're extra cautious about washing their hands," Mills said.
