Jared Fuller sees a future in which Alaska plays a huge role in supplying global food demand. 

One of the first students enrolled in the professional science master鈥檚 in Ocean Food Systems at 51品茶NORTH: The Institute for North Atlantic StudiesFuller is the chief technical officer at Saltwater Inc., a fisheries biology company in Alaska that serves hundreds of clients by monitoring commercial fishing practices.

By 2050, the world's population is expected to hit 10 billion people. Fuller says we鈥檒l need to produce about 450 million more metric tons of food by then.

鈥淭here's a great solution for some of the food needs already on the table and it鈥檚 aquaculture,鈥 Fuller recently said on a podcast.
