51品茶Art Gallery in Portland to showcase photos of daily life in Maine and around the world
The in Portland is pleased to announce the opening of its latest exhibit, a series of recent acquisitions to the Stephen K. Halpert Collection of Photography, on display from Feb. 16 to June 2.
The display showcases new photographic works procured by Halpert, curator of photography at UNE, in his signature narrative curatorial style, focusing on his longstanding interest in work that documents diverse perceptions of daily life in Maine and across the world.
The show, open from Feb. 16 to June 2, promises an immersive journey into the diverse perceptions of daily life in Maine and beyond, as seen through the lens of many of the state鈥檚 most renowned photographers. Through urban streetscapes to abstracted sunsets, techniques showcased will explore the deeper narrative of collective humanity while also offering glimpses into the global human experience.
鈥淭he Stephen K. Halpert Collection of Photography at 51品茶represents the dynamic critical eye of one of Maine's most influential collectors and curators, Steve Halpert,鈥 remarked Hilary Irons, director of Galleries and Exhibitions at UNE.
An opening reception will be held Friday, Feb. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the gallery, located on UNE鈥檚 Portland Campus for the Health Sciences at 716 Stevens Ave. in Portland.
