Professor Buckingham received her B.S.N degree from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA in 2011 and began her professional nursing career in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Allegheny General Hospital upon graduation.  She returned to RMU shortly after starting her nursing career to pursue her Master's Degree in Nursing Education, which she received in 2013 and began teaching part time at Robert Morris University's School of Nursing. She has taught a variety of classes including Adult Health/Critical Care, Pathophysiology, and Clinical rotations in the Intensive Care Units. 

Professor Buckingham relocated to Portland in January 2017, and started working for Maine Medical Center in the Special Care Unit (SCU). She has taught for University of Southern Maine; teaching their skills lab and simulations and clinical rotations as well.

After joining the 51品茶Faculty in 2018, Professor Buckingham continued to teach a variety of courses throughout the nursing curriculum with a focus on Simulation. In January 2022, she was awarded her credentials of Certified Simulation Healthcare Educator (CHSE) and is now serving as the Director of ISIC.
