Liz joined the School of Nursing & Population Health as new faculty in the 2022-23 academic year. Her specialty is advanced public health nursing, and she is thrilled to have a role in preparing future nurses to improve population health by emphasizing prevention & addressing multiple determinants of health. Previously, Liz served for five years as Clinical Educator at UNE's Center for Excellence in Public Health, integrating public health knowledge and skills into health professions students’ learning experiences, and developing continuing education for current Maine-based health professionals with a focus on health equity.
Prior to joining UNE, Liz enjoyed a diverse, primarily community-based nursing career in care management; infection prevention; primary care in an urban FQHC; and women's health.
While technically Liz is "from away", she has fallen in love with Maine and is proudly raising her two Mainer daughters - and enjoying everything this beautiful state has to offer - with her husband.
