The Department of Pharmacy Practice embraces the disciplines of the profession, including community care, health-systems pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, pharmacoepidemiology, experimental pharmacotherapeutics, pharmacotherapy, pharmacy practice management, health informatics, public health, and pharmacy administration.

Capitalizing on the synergy of these disciplines, the department provides state and national leadership in contemporary pharmacy practice, education, and research. Our professional services agreements with pharmacies and health systems throughout Northern New England support innovative patient care and vibrant experiential learning opportunities for pharmacy students. 

The department includes clinical specialists, research specialists, and an extensive practitioner-educator network with pharmacy expertise in a variety of areas, including pediatrics, geriatrics, adult medicine, intensive care, emergency care, drug information, community care, ambulatory care, cardiology, infectious diseases, oncology, toxicology, outcomes research, nephrology, neurology, pharmacy law and ethics, psychiatric pharmacotherapy, and nutrition.
